Joanna and Sandy first met when they were neighbors in the same building. I had so much fun photographing their wedding at House for an Art Lover in Glasgow. The couple pulled together so many unique, handmade details to celebrate the occasion. The bride asked me to capture as many candids of the couple with their family and friends as I could and it was clear that every guest was having a wonderful time. The venue was designed by famed Glaswegian architect and designer, Remy Mackintosh. Conceived during the arts and crafts moment, the ceremony space had some incredible artistic detailing that gave the space tons of historic personality. I went with Joanna and Sandy to the verdant walled garden next door for their portraits. A beautiful wedding from start to finish.
Kathryn and James's Melville Castle Wedding
Kathryn and James were introduced during the early days of the pandemic. The two of them spent hours on video calls during the first lockdown, discovering they had so much in common and falling in love before they even had the chance to meet in person. Kathryn is from Canada while James is Scottish - their wedding incorporated traditions from both. Their elegant day took place at Melville Castle, not far outside Edinburgh. With refined old chestnut trees, a wooden footbridge and a fountain full of waterlilies, I can’t imagine a more romantic spot for nuptials.
Joanne and Neil's Greywalls Hotel Wedding
Joanne and Neil’s ceremony took place at the same parish church where the bride’s parents married, followed by an intimate wedding reception at the stunning Greywalls Hotel in Gullane, East Lothian. As a gardener, getting to photograph some romantic, relaxed portraits around Greywalls’ flowering gardens was a dream come true for me. And we lucked out with the most gorgeous, sunny day!

Joanne and David were a joy to work with, such kind people both of them.

Cammy and Alex's Harvest Moon Wedding
Cammy and Alex’s wedding day at Harvest Moon in East Lothian was pretty perfect. The weather was warm and sunny, making it excellent conditions to have their ceremony outside amongst the old trees. The bride and groom are animal lovers, and brought their pet rats along to be honorary ring bearers. A fun and lively celebration in a marquee capped off the festivities.
Rachel and Kyle's Netherbyres House Wedding
Rachel and Kyle had to postpone their wedding during the pandemic, but on a fine October afternoon they were at last able to gather with friends and family to celebrate their special day. Their venue was the beautiful Netherbyres House in Eyemouth, which I’ve wanted to photograph at ever since I saw their modern art deco style and bright colours. There were such lovely details, from the Glenmorangie for the quaich to the autumnal wildflowers provided by Mill Pond Flower Farm. I enjoyed spending the day with Rachel and Kyle, exploring the grounds and capturing all the joy of the day!
Jennifer and Donny's South Queensferry Wedding
Jennifer and Donny met during their very first week as university students. Their relationship would bring them on many adventures, including moving to New Zealand before returning to live together in Scotland. Their wedding took place at Orocco Pier in South Queensferry, on a beautiful sunny day overlooking the Firth of Forth and the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. I loved spending the day with these two, taking pictures on the picturesque main street with all the colorful buildings.
Laura and Curtis's Gosford House Wedding
Laura is Scottish, Curtis is Canadian and, like many couples during the Covid era, planning a wedding with all the restrictions was tough. But despite postponements and international family unable to physically attend the wedding, these two came through all the challenges to host a beautiful, intimate wedding at Gosford House in East Lothian. The wedding marked the end to long distance dating for the couple and Curtis’s family in Canada were able to join in via web call. Gosford House only has a handful of weddings each year, so I was honored to be able to photograph in such a gorgeous space and around the wonderful grounds.
Seumas and Greta's St. Andrews Engagement
Greta and Seumas both attended St. Andrews University, but despite mutual friends between them and even having attended the same events and parties, they did not meet each other until they were both living in Edinburgh a few years later. They hit it off and the rest is history. Because of their connection to the university, St. Andrews was the perfect place for their engagement photo session. Seumas is in the army and was set to deploy a couple weeks later, coming back for their wedding next summer. I’m so happy we were able to arrange this day to capture their love story in a place that is so special to both of them.
Kellie and Seonaid's Pentland Hills Engagement
Seonaid is from the Scottish Highlands, but met Kellie when she was living and working in Australia. They spent time traveling all around Australia before settling on Edinburgh as home. We met up on a gorgeous autumnal day, with crisp air and the leaves changing colors, for their engagement session in the Pentland Hills, just outside the city. I’m looking forward to photographing their Edinburgh wedding next summer.
Alex and Archie's Kelso Farm Wedding
After being together for several years, living in Australia and traveling the world together, Alex and Archie got married at his family farm in Kelso, in the Scottish Borders. The day was a joyful family affair with bouquets and a gorgeous flower crown made by Alex’s friend and the whole crowd erupting into a singalong during the ceremony. I loved all the cute touches, like the cozy blankets on the chilly day and the bright, homegrown sunflowers everywhere.
Annabel and Hamish's Humbie Kirk Wedding
Annabel and Hamish met when they were in the same university program, but fell in love when both ended up living in London for work. Annabel and Hamish’s wedding was the most beautiful day. The ceremony at the picturesque Humbie Kirk in the Scottish Borders, followed by a reception at Hamish’s uncle’s house, was like a country wedding fantasy and I loved being there with my camera to witness the day.
Jasmine and Steven's GG's Yard Wedding
Jasmine and Steven’s wedding took place on the west coast of Scotland at the gorgeous venue, GG’s Yard, with its stunning light and views of the sea. The day was non-stop joy from start to finish and I really loved all the personalized details they incorporated, like Jasmine’s bride purse, the Scottish ceremonial quaich and the customized bridesmaids robes. We slipped away down to the quiet, rocky beach for bride & groom portraits and in front of some amazing hydrangeas at their peak bloom. So romantic.
Jaclyn & Anthony’s Lace and Rose Wedding
By far the best part of being a wedding photographer is to get to meet such lovely couples and witness love every day. That’s how I felt about working with Jaclyn & Anthony for their engagement session and finally their wedding. I’m so lucky and grateful that they asked me to be a part of their special day. The day was adorned with beautiful details — red roses, blush pink dahlias, glamorous sparkly shoes and the most gorgeous lace bridal veil that trailed behind Jaclyn as she walked down the aisle. There were many generations of family there to celebrate Jaclyn and Anthony’s union and everyone danced the night away.
Alena & Lou’s Malibu Beach Wedding
I met Alena and Lou at their engagement session at their alma mater, Harvey Mudd, and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since. They’re such a friendly, relaxed couple and I knew their wedding would be reflective of their laid back attitudes, unique personal touches and, of course, their love for each other. The big day finally arrived and everyone gathered at the gorgeous Malibu beach for the celebration. I was utterly charmed by the table decorations, with each table themed after one of their favorite books like Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. And those cake toppers! Alena and Lou as Hogwarts students, perfect in every detail from their house scarves to the tiny broomstick and wand.
Kristin & John’s Golden Road Brewery Wedding
Kristin and John’s wedding at the Golden Road Brewery in Burbank, California was a real treat for the senses – bursting with color and fun. Everything from the bridesmaids dresses to the flowers were as bright as the blue skies and summer sun. Kristin and John share an awesome fashion sense and a love of dancing. They were so excited to be getting married and their energy was infectious as I captured their wedding day. Shortly after the wedding, they embarked on another big adventure by moving across the country where John is pursuing a graduate degree. Best of luck to these two!
