Joanna and Sandy first met when they were neighbors in the same building. I had so much fun photographing their wedding at House for an Art Lover in Glasgow. The couple pulled together so many unique, handmade details to celebrate the occasion. The bride asked me to capture as many candids of the couple with their family and friends as I could and it was clear that every guest was having a wonderful time. The venue was designed by famed Glaswegian architect and designer, Remy Mackintosh. Conceived during the arts and crafts moment, the ceremony space had some incredible artistic detailing that gave the space tons of historic personality. I went with Joanna and Sandy to the verdant walled garden next door for their portraits. A beautiful wedding from start to finish.
Heather and Nick's Cowden Garden wedding
Heather and Nick’s intimate wedding at the Japanese Gardens at Cowden was simply stunning. This sweet and lovely couple were all about celebrating this special day with their closest friends and family in a gorgeous natural setting. One of the bridesmaids made Heather’s bride gown and the bridesmaids dresses. Several of the guests provided musical interludes and readings. While I went off on a wander with the bride and groom to capture their portraits after the ceremony, the guests were treated to a guided tour of the venue.
The garden itself is a true hidden gem in Scotland, not far from Stirling. On the same day we were there, a film crew from BBC’s Gardener’s World was filming a special segment about Cowden for the program. If you’re searching for a picturesque, peaceful space for your wedding, you can’t do better!
Kathryn and James's Melville Castle Wedding
Kathryn and James were introduced during the early days of the pandemic. The two of them spent hours on video calls during the first lockdown, discovering they had so much in common and falling in love before they even had the chance to meet in person. Kathryn is from Canada while James is Scottish - their wedding incorporated traditions from both. Their elegant day took place at Melville Castle, not far outside Edinburgh. With refined old chestnut trees, a wooden footbridge and a fountain full of waterlilies, I can’t imagine a more romantic spot for nuptials.
Joanne and Neil's Greywalls Hotel Wedding
Joanne and Neil’s ceremony took place at the same parish church where the bride’s parents married, followed by an intimate wedding reception at the stunning Greywalls Hotel in Gullane, East Lothian. As a gardener, getting to photograph some romantic, relaxed portraits around Greywalls’ flowering gardens was a dream come true for me. And we lucked out with the most gorgeous, sunny day!

Ashley and Fraser's Balmoral Wedding
Ashley is from Arizona, Fraser is from Scotland. While they already married in the US, many of their UK family and friends weren’t able to attend the wedding because of the pandemic so the couple decided to come to Scotland for a second celebration. The wedding celebration took place at the Balmoral Hotel in central Edinburgh. I was super excited to get up on the roof for the amazing city views and then we went to Princes Street Gardens as well for more portraits. Ashley and Fraser enjoyed incorporating some traditional Scottish elements into the big day, like drinking from the quaich, a bagpiper entrance and a handfasting ritual. I had the best time spending the day with this lovely pair!
Special thanks to Abi Houliston for second shooting.

Imogen and Sean's Dunkeld House Wedding
The village of Dunkeld, nestled at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, is one of my favorite places so I was delighted when Imogen and Sean booked me for their wedding in this scenic location. Their wedding was peppered with personal touches – photos of them on their travels, beautiful handpainted signage created by the bride herself. One of my favourite elements were the novels that the couple thoughtfully picked out for each guest, writing a note inside about why they chose that book. It was such a joy to witness these two make a heartfelt pledge and start their lives together.
Special thanks to Nicola Jeffrey for being my second photographer. Shoutout to the talented team of vendors who made this day possible:

Joanne and David's Carberry Tower Wedding
Joanne and David had their beautiful wedding at Carberry Tower, just outside Edinburgh. Their wedding was full of timeless elements, from the crisp white and green colour scheme to the stylish classic car that brought the bride to the event. Joanne and David were a joy to work with, such kind people both of them.
Special thanks to Nicola Jeffrey for second shooting with me.

Cammy and Alex's Harvest Moon Wedding
Cammy and Alex’s wedding day at Harvest Moon in East Lothian was pretty perfect. The weather was warm and sunny, making it excellent conditions to have their ceremony outside amongst the old trees. The bride and groom are animal lovers, and brought their pet rats along to be honorary ring bearers. A fun and lively celebration in a marquee capped off the festivities.
Emer and Ian's Royal College of Physicians Wedding
Emer and Ian were married at the gorgeous Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, which was the perfect venue for them as they’re both doctors who met at the hospital. Their special day was perfect from start to finish. They incorporated so many heartfelt details, like a hand-carved bowl and moss from Emer’s family’s land in Ireland, along with homemade fruit jam grown and jarred by her parents. I had a great time photographing the couple as they made a commitment to each other.
It was a lot of fun photographing with my second photographer, Kata Opuntia. Flowers provided by Ochre Botanical Studio.
Rachel and Kyle's Netherbyres House Wedding
Rachel and Kyle had to postpone their wedding during the pandemic, but on a fine October afternoon they were at last able to gather with friends and family to celebrate their special day. Their venue was the beautiful Netherbyres House in Eyemouth, which I’ve wanted to photograph at ever since I saw their modern art deco style and bright colours. There were such lovely details, from the Glenmorangie for the quaich to the autumnal wildflowers provided by Mill Pond Flower Farm. I enjoyed spending the day with Rachel and Kyle, exploring the grounds and capturing all the joy of the day!
Katie and Cameron's Berwick-Upon-Tweed wedding
Katie is a professional illustrator with a really cute style, Cameron is a photographer with a love of vintage cars, so when the two were planning their wedding in Berwick-Upon-Tweed they incorporated lots of awesome details that reflected their personalities. From the hand-illustrated place cards created by the bride, to the romantic wildflowers decorating the ceremony and reception spaces, to the amazing vintage car we drove around for bride & groom portraits, it was a beautiful day to photograph.
Greta and Seumas's Carberry Tower Wedding
Greta and Seumas hosted a super joyful and elegant wedding day at the gorgeous Carberry Tower in Musselburgh. Since Seumas is in the military, he was dressed in full military kilt and the couple incorporated a Guard of Honour exit from the church. I got to know these two at a pre-wedding photo session in St. Andrews. Like many others they had to rearrange plans due to the pandemic, so I was very happy to capture all the details of their special day.
Bridal portraits at Glasgow Botanic Gardens
After eight years together, Shani and Kavan tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Arta in Glasgow. Afterwards, we stopped at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens for their bride & groom portraits. It’s long been a hope of mine that I’d have the chance to photograph inside a glasshouse and I loved every minute of it!
Jennifer and Donny's South Queensferry Wedding
Jennifer and Donny met during their very first week as university students. Their relationship would bring them on many adventures, including moving to New Zealand before returning to live together in Scotland. Their wedding took place at Orocco Pier in South Queensferry, on a beautiful sunny day overlooking the Firth of Forth and the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. I loved spending the day with these two, taking pictures on the picturesque main street with all the colorful buildings.
Laura and Curtis's Gosford House Wedding
Laura is Scottish, Curtis is Canadian and, like many couples during the Covid era, planning a wedding with all the restrictions was tough. But despite postponements and international family unable to physically attend the wedding, these two came through all the challenges to host a beautiful, intimate wedding at Gosford House in East Lothian. The wedding marked the end to long distance dating for the couple and Curtis’s family in Canada were able to join in via web call. Gosford House only has a handful of weddings each year, so I was honored to be able to photograph in such a gorgeous space and around the wonderful grounds.
Seumas and Greta's St. Andrews Engagement
Greta and Seumas both attended St. Andrews University, but despite mutual friends between them and even having attended the same events and parties, they did not meet each other until they were both living in Edinburgh a few years later. They hit it off and the rest is history. Because of their connection to the university, St. Andrews was the perfect place for their engagement photo session. Seumas is in the army and was set to deploy a couple weeks later, coming back for their wedding next summer. I’m so happy we were able to arrange this day to capture their love story in a place that is so special to both of them.
