The Scottish drizzle fell on Lisa and Calum’s wedding day in Stirling, but didn’t ruin any of the wonderful festivities they had planned. An intimate crowd gathered at the registry to witness Lisa and Calum exchange wedding vows followed by celebrations at the Stirling Highland Hotel. It was such a fun experience to be able to photograph portraits around the old, historical center of Stirling. The memory I take away from their beautiful wedding is how generous and welcoming they were to us as photographers and how much everyone laughed and joked throughout the day.
Ben met Sheena when he first became interested in learning about Buddhism. He liked her immediately, but it wasn’t until years later that they became a couple. Through the wedding planning process, I loved getting to spend time with these two and being there to document their big day felt very special. One thing I noticed in every aspect of their wedding was just how beloved Sheena and Ben are by their family and friends. Also, they made my job very easy - it was clear from the way they looked at each other throughout the day how much they love each other. From touching speeches to the hilarious father/daughter dance in the backyard of a long-time family friend, their wedding was brimming with lovely touches that I’ll remember for a long time.
Kristin and John’s wedding at the Golden Road Brewery in Burbank, California was a real treat for the senses – bursting with color and fun. Everything from the bridesmaids dresses to the flowers were as bright as the blue skies and summer sun. Kristin and John share an awesome fashion sense and a love of dancing. They were so excited to be getting married and their energy was infectious as I captured their wedding day. Shortly after the wedding, they embarked on another big adventure by moving across the country where John is pursuing a graduate degree. Best of luck to these two!
I was approached to participate in this photo shoot by Throop Church because they want to show off their beautiful building as a venue for weddings. And who wouldn’t – it’s gorgeous! It ended up being a wonderful session with our models and real life couple – Allyson and Patric. Even though this was not their wedding day, their love for each other could be felt everywhere. It made me feel lucky to be able to document this exciting time in their lives. I felt inspired by the soaring stained glass windows in the sanctuary and blooms in the garden.
